Detailed Description: In this workshop, attendees will learn about the legal relationships between author, publisher and reader in order to understand how to protect one’s own intellectual property rights as authors, to respect others' rights, and to interpret common provisions in publisher agreements. Additionally, we will review the strengths and weaknesses of various publishing models including open access and best practices for locating and evaluating open access publication venues.
